Our first adventure to South Africa incorporates some of the best mountain biking this diverse and exciting country has to offer.

Starting from the amazing Drakensberg Mountains our cross country route visits the Kingdom of Swaziland and the spectacular forested trails of Sabie. And, of course, no visit to South Africa is complete without a game drive in the World famous Kruger National Park. We’ll have time to experience rural communities, visit tribal areas and do some serious game watching.

As ever, we have carefully selected a variety of comfortable place’s to stay from chalets and mountain cabins, permanent tented sites and traditional huts which all reflect the ambience of African lifestyle.

Day 1
After our overnight flight to Johannesburg we transfer to Northern Drakensberg. The spectacular range-the Barrier of Spears- is a 200k mountainous wonderland and is a World Heritage Site. There’s time for a short ride or the opportunity to see Bushman rock paintings on foot

Day 2
A good days biking on a mix of dirt road and some asphalt to get us started. Bike through the tribal area to Ngewni Cultural Centre.

Day 3
From Ngewni its all scenic off-road biking to Cathedral Peak. Late afternoon transfer to Bergville.

Day 4
On to Swaziland and Hwane village in the mountainous northwest on the edge of Malolotja Nature Reserve, renowned for its variety of habitats from grassland to moist forest.

Day 5
Following cattle paths and dirt roads we ride down to the Eastern Lowlands of Swaziland via rural communities.

Day 6
Cycling across the Kingdom towards the Hlane Game Reserve where we have the opportunity to see Rhino on a guided game walk with local rangers.

Day 7 and 8 
Its farewell to Swaziland as we head towards the Kruger National Park, boasting the world’s largest concentration of species and an amazing 16 eco-systems! Time to relax with some excellent game viewing as we spot the ‘’Big 5’’-Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo- and enjoy ‘brunch in the bush’.

DAY 9-11
From Kruger we transfer to the Mpumalanga escarpment and the small town of Sabie. This mountainous-forrested region has awesome views and spectacular biking!

Day 12
Transfer to Jo’berg for our flight home.
